1. About Halfway
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of Halfway, including the Halfway mobile application, website, and related services.
Halfway is a Christian decision companion designed to help users slow down, reflect on decisions, identify what is within their responsibility, consider what is outside their control, make commitments, and reflect on Scripture and prior decisions.
By creating an account or using Halfway, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the service.
2. Halfway Does Not Speak for God
Halfway does not claim to know God's will for you, receive divine revelation, communicate messages from God, or determine what God wants you to do.
Scripture and Christian reflection provided through Halfway are intended to support thoughtful reflection. They should not be understood as proof that a particular decision, outcome, prediction, or course of action is God's will.
3. Artificial Intelligence
Halfway uses artificial intelligence to provide guided reflection, generate Halfway results, identify themes, provide relevant context, and support certain memory and journey features.
Artificial intelligence can make mistakes, misunderstand context, produce incomplete information, or generate responses that are not appropriate for your circumstances.
You are responsible for evaluating information provided by Halfway and for making your own decisions.
4. Not Professional Advice
Halfway is a reflection tool. It is not a substitute for professional advice or services.
Halfway does not provide medical, mental-health, legal, financial, tax, investment, or other regulated professional advice.
Halfway is also not a substitute for a pastor, priest, minister, counselor, spiritual director, church leader, or other trusted source of pastoral or spiritual care.
When a decision involves significant medical, mental-health, legal, financial, safety, or other professional concerns, you should seek assistance from an appropriately qualified professional.
5. Emergencies
Halfway is not an emergency service and should not be used as one.
If you or another person may be in immediate danger or experiencing an emergency, contact the appropriate emergency services or qualified emergency resource in your location.
6. Your Account
Some Halfway features require an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for activity occurring through your account.
You agree to provide accurate account information and not to impersonate another person or attempt to access another user's account.
7. Your Content
You retain your rights in the conversations, decisions, reflections, commitments, follow-ups, and other content you submit to Halfway.
You grant Halfway a limited license to host, store, process, reproduce, and otherwise use that content as necessary to operate, secure, maintain, and provide the service to you.
This license is limited to purposes connected with providing and operating Halfway and does not transfer ownership of your content to Halfway.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse Halfway. You may not:
- Use Halfway for unlawful purposes.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts or systems.
- Interfere with or disrupt the operation or security of the service.
- Reverse engineer, exploit, scrape, or abuse the service except where such restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
- Use automated methods to place unreasonable loads on Halfway's infrastructure.
- Attempt to bypass subscription, usage, security, or access controls.
- Use Halfway in a manner that infringes the rights of another person.
9. Free Access
Halfway may provide a limited number of completed Halfways at no charge. A free use is counted when a Halfway result is successfully generated for a decision.
Starting a conversation, continuing a conversation, or deleting a conversation before a Halfway result is successfully generated does not by itself count as a completed Halfway.
Once a Halfway has been successfully generated, that use remains counted even if the associated decision or other content is later deleted.
Halfway may change the amount or structure of free access offered to new or existing users in the future, subject to applicable law.
10. Halfway+ Subscriptions
Halfway may offer a paid subscription called Halfway+. Features and pricing presented in the application or applicable app store at the time of purchase govern your subscription.
Halfway+ may include benefits such as additional or unlimited new Halfways, expanded continuity and memory features, and deeper journey or cross-decision insights.
11. Billing and Renewal
Subscriptions purchased through Google Play are billed through your Google Play account and are subject to Google Play's applicable terms, billing policies, and subscription management procedures.
Unless canceled, an auto-renewing subscription may renew according to the billing period and terms displayed by Google Play at the time of purchase.
12. Cancellation
You may manage or cancel a Google Play subscription through Google Play.
Canceling renewal generally does not immediately remove paid access. Access may continue until the end of the current paid subscription period, subject to the applicable app store's rules.
Deleting your Halfway account does not automatically cancel an active subscription managed by Google Play. If you have an active subscription, you should manage or cancel it through Google Play separately.
13. Refunds
Purchases and refund requests made through Google Play are generally governed by Google Play's applicable refund and payment policies.
14. Existing Content After Halfway+
If your Halfway+ access ends, Halfway is designed so that content you previously created, such as existing decisions and Halfway results, remains available to you unless that content or your account is deleted or access must be restricted for legal, security, technical, or policy reasons.
Certain features requiring an active Halfway+ subscription may no longer be available after paid access ends.
15. Service Changes
Halfway may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue features as the service evolves. We may also make changes necessary for security, reliability, legal compliance, platform requirements, or technical reasons.
16. Intellectual Property
Halfway, including its software, branding, design, graphics, service structure, and other materials provided by Halfway, is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
These Terms do not grant you ownership of Halfway's intellectual property.
17. Third-Party Services
Halfway relies on third-party platforms and service providers, including infrastructure, artificial intelligence, authentication, subscription, mobile application, and app-store providers.
Your use of certain third-party services may also be subject to the terms and policies of those providers.
18. Suspension or Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to Halfway when reasonably necessary to address misuse, fraud, security risks, unlawful activity, material violations of these Terms, or legal requirements.
You may stop using Halfway at any time and may delete your account using the account deletion features provided in the application.
19. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Halfway is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
We do not guarantee that Halfway will always be uninterrupted, error-free, completely secure, or that artificial-intelligence output will always be accurate, complete, or appropriate for your situation.
20. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Halfway and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the service.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
21. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as Halfway evolves or as legal, technical, operational, or platform requirements change.
When these Terms are updated, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be changed.
